The Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) is 29 weeks in length (or per court order) and includes intake and assessment, 26 weekly sessions, individual/group counseling, discharge, and certification of completion. Offenders must provide timely payment for services and comply with all program rules and guidelines. This program is based on psycho-educational concepts common to the Duluth Model, contemporary research, and specifically addresses tactics of power and control by one person over another.
This community based Sex Offender Treatment Program requires a mental health evaluation and risk assessment to begin the treatment program and attendance in weekly group therapy sessions. The crux of treatment is initially offense centered and then quickly moves into root-cause factors and influences such as offense patterns, sexual addiction, substance abuse, family history, upbringing, pornography, self-esteem, social (relationship) isolation, personality, power and control issues, deviance, spirituality, morality, and ethics. Participants will complete cognitive behavioral treatment tasks (CBT) and participate in Structured Dialogical Group (SDG) exercises to explore program content to develop and engage personal narratives that result in pro-social decision making and positive life changes.

Root-cause factors and influences such as substance abuse, family problems, stress, financial difficulty, infidelity, and power / control tactics in relationships will be presented and discussed to help participants work through personal issues that trigger acting out and maladaptive coping. If you have a unique circumstance requiring case review, consultation, evaluation, or specialized intervention, I may be able to help. Sometimes, its very helpful scheduling time to sit down and sort out difficult situations or circumstances that may involve complex business decisions or difficult relationships, legal issues, or making major life changes. In most cases, a little counseling will go along way.
